At Florida Electrophysiology Associates, all of our doctors are fully trained in all aspects of modern electrophysiology including complex ablation techniques and skin-to-skin pacemaker and defibrillator implantation surgery. Dr. Robert S. Fishel, MD

Dr. Robert S. Fishel is the founder of Florida Electrophysiology Associates. His mentor at Emory was Dr. Jonathan Langberg, the developer of catheter ablations and the first physician to have ever performed a radiofrequency catheter ablation. Dr. Fishel has performed over 5000 catheter ablations in his career and implanted over 1500 defibrillators.

Dr. Faren R. Angella, MD

Dr. Faren R. Angella stayed at the University of Florida in Gainesville for undergraduate studies, medical school, internal medicine residency, cardiology fellowship and a fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology. She has earned numerous awards including Phi Beta Kappa, best resident in internal medicine and outstanding cardiology fellow of the year. Dr. Angella has published numerous scientific articles in heart rhythm management.

Dr. Vladimir Rankovic is a cardiologist in Atlantis, Florida and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Bethesda Memorial Hospital and Delray Medical Center. He received his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine and has been in practice for 23 years.

Dr. Marcelo A. Jimenez completed his Internal Medicine and Cardiology training at Lenox Hill Hospital and advanced Electrophysiology training at Loyola University under world renowned physicians. His expertise includes management of complex atrial and ventricular arrhythmias. Dr. Jimenez specializes in complex ablations and advanced low fluoroscopy procedures such as atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia and left atrial re-entry. Aside from providing excellent patient care, he is strongly committed to the education of future physicians. He is involved in teaching fellows, residents and medical students and serves as an Affiliate Assistant Professor at Florida Atlantic University College of Medicine.

Matthew Kolek, MD

Dr. Kolek completed his electrophysiology (EP) training at the prestigious Vanderbilt University, where he learned how to perform cutting edge EP procedures from the world’s most accomplished practitioners in our field. His skill set including complex ablations, AF ablation, Watchman devices, MICRA leadless pacemakers, and laser lead extractions, sets our practice apart from the rest. He has many accolades (Deans Award for Best Medical Student, AOA Medical Honor Society, and 19 research articles just to name a few) and we are thrilled to have him on our team to better serve you. He is currently accepting new patients in Jupiter, Palm Beach Gardens, Lantana, Boynton Beach, and at our Broward County office.

Dr. Appelbaum completed his internal medicine training at Emory University and his cardiology and electrophysiology fellowships at the University of Maryland Medical Center. He expertly manages all aspects of heart rhythm disorders with medical therapy, catheter ablation, and device implantation. He remains on the cutting edge of electrophysiology by performing complex ablations as well as Micra implantation. He has numerous presentations at international conferences and was awarded Top Reviewer for the Journal of American College of Cardiology: Case Reports.

Dr. John N. Bibawy, MD

Dr. John N. Bibawy is a cardiac electrophysiologist who focuses on the medical management of arrhythmias, pacemaker and defibrillator placement and programming, as well as advanced left- and right-sided cardiac ablations such as SVTs, atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia.

Dr. Bibawy completed his medical training in Internal Medicine and Cardiology in New York City at Northwell Health Staten Island University Hospital, and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology at the University of Rochester Strong Memorial Hospital.

He is actively participating in projects with an interest in EP-based topics with a focus in atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia and device-based therapy.

Dr. Alejandro Jimenez Restrepo completed Internal Medicine and Cardiology fellowship at UT Health Science Center in San Antonio, followed by Electrophysiology training at the University of Maryland Medical Center. His clinical interests include complex ablations and advanced device implants. His practice emphasizes procedure standardization and efficiency to improve patient outcomes. He is actively involved in research and education with the University of Maryland School of Medicine as Associate Professor, and with the American College of Cardiology as Associate Editor of JACC Case Reports.

Rajesh Harrilal is a Family Nurse Practitioner accredited and Board certified by American Nurses Credentialing Center, and licensed in Florida by Florida Board of Nursing since 2001.

He has been a part of Florida Electrophysiology Associates since 2001, and partners closely with Dr. Robert Fishel, Dr. Faranaz Angella, Dr. Vladimir Rankovic, Dr. Marcello Jimenez, and Dr. Matthew Kolek.

He originally attended Florida Atlantic University, in Boca Raton, Florida, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, graduating with honors.

While working in the Intensive Care Unit at West Boca Medical Center, he completed his Master of Science in Nursing with subspecialty in Adult Critical Care.

Rajesh Harrilal is CCRN board certified in Adult Critical Care by American Association of Critical Care Nurses – ACCN – since 1998.

He has worked primarily in an inpatient setting and began working with Florida Electrophysiology Associates in 2001, managing patients at JFK Medical Center.

He is involved in the entire continuum of care of patients managed by Florida Electrophysiology Associates who are cared for at JFK Medical Center, and you will see him primarily managing patients in an inpatient setting.

Rajesh Harrilal is an active member of several professional organizations including the American College of Nurse Practitioners; ANCC; Sigma Theta Tau; AACN.

Trisia R. Gopie, APRN

Trish Gopie is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) who has been a part of the FEA family since 2019.  She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Purdue University, and her Masters in Nursing with a focus in Family Nurse Practitioner at South University.  She is board certified by American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

Trish has a passion for cardiology and electrophysiology.  Her career has been spent in acute care, most recently in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit at JFK Medical Center, where she gained a wealth of experience taking care of post open-heart and coronary intervention patients, including those with atrial and ventricular arrhythmias. There she gained an in-depth understanding of the relationship between arrhythmias, hemodynamics and structural heart disease.

She works closely with Dr. Fishel, Dr. Angella, and Dr. Rankovic providing care for patients in our Atlantis office, and to patients admitted to Bethesda East/West, Delray Medical Center, JFK Medical Center, Wellington Regional Medical Center and Palms West Hospital.

Wislande Gilles, APRN

Wislande Gilles is a professional Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, accredited and board certified by American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science degree in Nursing with a specialization in Family Nurse Practitioner from Florida Atlantic University, graduating with honors.

Wislande worked at JFK Medical Center for over 20 years, including 2 1/2 years as a primary care Nurse Practitioner and five years in the Cardiovascular Critical Care Unit. She also spent 11 years caring for neurosurgical ICU patients, providing care to patients with both ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, brain tumors, bariatric surgery and surgical patients, drug overdose, pulmonary and neurological problems.

Wislande has also provided skilled nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients. She has been CCRN board certified in Adult Acute Critical Care Nursing by the American Association of Critical Nurses-AACN since 2018, and is an active member of several professional organizations including Nurse Practitioner Council of Palm Beach County and Black Nurse Practitioners of the Palm Beach County.

Lindsey Damiani, APRN

Lindsey Damiani is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) who recently joined the FEA family. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Worcester State University and her Master of Science in Nursing at Nova Southeastern University. She is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

Lindsey started her nursing career at Wellington Regional Medical Center on the telemetry unit and was also cross-trained to work on the cardiac step-down, ICU, and medical/surgical units.  Most recently, she spent eight years working at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center in the emergency department and gained an abundance of experience with cardiac arrhythmias, STEMI alerts, issues with pacemakers/defibrillators, and cardiac resuscitation.

Lindsey works closely with Dr. Kolek, providing care in the Jupiter office, as well as patients admitted to Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center, Jupiter Medical Center, and JFK Medical Center.

Lina P. Mosquera Rosales, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC

Presenting Lina P. Mosquera Rosales, a highly accomplished healthcare professional with five years of dedicated experience as a Registered Nurse in the cardiac field. Lina has further advanced her career by becoming a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), showcasing her commitment to excellence and expanded responsibilities in patient care.

Lina’s expertise encompasses a wide array of cardiac interventions, including assistance with loop recorders, tilt tables, Transesophageal Echocardiography/Cardioversion (TEE/CV), and
various implantable devices. This diverse skill set positions her as a valuable asset in providing comprehensive and specialized care to patients.

In 2024, Lina achieved the pinnacle of academic excellence by earning a Doctorate in
Nursing Practice (DNP), further solidifying her commitment to staying at the forefront of
healthcare advancements and contributing to the evolving landscape of patient care.

Lina’s proactive approach to improving healthcare outcomes is evident through her
notable achievements. She led a successful quality-improvement project focused on reducing door-to-balloon time, showcasing her leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills. This initiative not only enhanced patient care but also demonstrated Lina’s dedication to driving positive change within the healthcare system.

In 2023, Lina reached the highest echelon of professional recognition by attaining Level V on the clinical ladder at Delray Medical Center. This accomplishment reflects her exceptional clinical skills, leadership qualities, and the trust and respect she commands within the professional community.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Lina is a well-rounded individual with diverse interests. An accomplished painter, she channels her creativity into vibrant artwork. Lina finds joy in the simple pleasures of watching movies and spending quality time with her family.
